Position Overview
The Manager of Financial Accounting will oversee the financial accounting team, ensuring compliance with GAAP and the integrity of financial reporting. This role will be responsible for month-end close processes, financial analysis, and the implementation of accounting processes that align with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the month-end close process and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP and FERC regulations.
Manage the general ledger and review journal entries for accuracy and completeness.
Coordinate with external and internal auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
Implement and enhance accounting processes and systems to improve efficiency and compliance with SOX regulations.
Provide financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic initiatives within the company.
Supervise and mentor the financial accounting team, fostering professional development and ensuring high performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
At least 7 years of experience in financial accounting, with a focus on GAAP and FERC accounting.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and internal controls under SOX.
Experience with accounting systems and process implementation.
Proven track record in financial analysis and preparing financial statements.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
