Patent Agent

Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Patent Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding clients through the patent application process, conducting prior art searches, and providing strategic advice on intellectual property matters. This role is essential in protecting our clients' inventions and ensuring compliance with USPTO regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct prior art searches to assess the patentability of inventions
  • Prepare and file patent applications with the USPTO
  • Communicate with clients to gather invention disclosure and provide updates
  • Draft technical documents and responses to office actions
  • Advise clients on patent strategy and intellectual property rights
  • Perform legal research related to patents and intellectual property
  • Analyze patents and provide insights on potential infringements
  • Maintain knowledge of current USPTO regulations and practices
  • Collaborate with inventors and clients in developing patent protection strategies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science or engineering; advanced degree preferred
  • Registered Patent Agent with the USPTO
  • Patent prosecution experience in battery technology is a Must*
  • Strong understanding of patent prosecution processes
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills
  • Experience in conducting prior art searches and patent analysis
  • Proficiency in legal research and understanding of intellectual property law
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to clients
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in client communication and relationship management
