Position Overview
The Superintendent - Commercial will oversee and manage all aspects of commercial construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards while maintaining a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily construction operations on-site and coordinate with subcontractors and team members.
- Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion and adherence to deadlines.
- Monitor project budgets and financials, ensuring cost control and effective budget management.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes, implementing safety protocols on-site.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets specifications and quality standards.
- Lead and mentor construction teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best terms and pricing.
- Manage site logistics, including material deliveries and site access for personnel.
- Perform cost estimation and manage project scopes to align with budget expectations.
- Address and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts that arise during construction operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction projects.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling and budgeting processes.
- Familiarity with safety compliance standards and building codes.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation and subcontractor management.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance related to construction and building operations.
